LG’S LEAP OF FAITH: THE LG G3 ANDROID PHONE

After the LG G2 was released, we didn’t expect that the company will crown us with yet another invention so soon. Word on the street was that LG manufacturers released the LG G3 phone too soon. What are the odds?! We know LG as a company with solid products, so whatever their reason for releasing this phone brand too early; to secure a dwindling market space, to keep up the never-ending competition with Samsung. The LG G3 is affordable but did the company cut more than a little too much in half?

When using the LG G3, it’s like two things with totally different concepts trying to work together because we will always want for more improvement. Upgrades such as a separate section for the micro SD card without having to remove the back would make the phone more user friendly. However, once we get the hang of things; which might take a little getting used to, hopefully, these perceived negatives will turn out into charming positives.

The LG G3 is one sleek and stylish innovation. Although it might appear a little luck-luster because of the boring metallic finish, it’s a total upgrade from the G2. It has a good display (5.5”, Quad HD 2,560 resolution display) (True HD-IPS +LCD capacitive touch screen) and amazing laser auto-focus which makes it a phablet handset.

The pros…

The LG G3 has a great screen that makes for a vivid display (538ppi). The smooth, curved lines make it feel like a smaller phone and easily distinguish it from other phones.

The phablet also comes with a good camera that’s a great work horse in bright light (13MP camera with laser auto-focus and dual LED flash) and an improved interface and the rear cover distinguishes this phone from the rest.

The concerns…

The LG G3’s metallic finish offers the lowest weight; however, the removable back lowers the tightness of the packaging and makes it seem a little bit hollow. The interface could also be a little bit cluttered which means that a user has to literally scroll down to read a message. Unfortunately, the LG G3 also has a lower battery life compared to the G2. Maybe this is because of the power hog pixel resolution (538ppi) and without the unnecessary software additions; the phone could turn out to be a handy device.

The LG G3 has been known to be outdoing the Samsung S5 in terms of sales. Now, this has to count for something. It has great, distinct features such as a new adjustable smart keyboard, solid call quality and amazing color scheme to distinguish different applications without forgetting the great transition animations. It’s not a one-trick pony though; it has a lot going on. The G3 runs on snappy quad-core processor (Android 4.4.2 KitKat) and enough storage capacity (up to 128 GB, 16 GB RAM).

Even though the power button at the back needs a little memory muscle to remember, we celebrate the brilliance of LG and the functionality the LG G3 brings into our lives. The LG G3 comes in the varieties of metallic black, silk white, shine gold, moon violet, burgundy, red and blue steel. It is a good choice but there are better Android phones to choose from out there. However, it’s all about personal preference.
